How to Avoid Fake Room Listings Online
Team MyKamra

That ₹6 k Bandra flat with sea-view? Photoshop hai bhai. Spot fraud listings with these 7 smell-tests.
1. Rent Too Low
Average 1 BHK Bandra = ₹22 k. Ad shows ₹8 k? Report & scroll. If it’s too good to be true, it’s a con.
2. Only WhatsApp, No Call
Poster refuses voice call – “I’m in meeting”. Means he’s in some cyber-café in Bihar, not Bombay.
3. Stock Photos
Reverse-search image on Google. If same pic shows up for Delhi, Chennai, Nairobi – LOL.
4. Grammar = Red Flag
“Very goodly ventilated room with furnitures” – Google translate scam. Genuine owners usually write broken-but-real Hindi-English.
5. Ask for Video
Owner sends 5-sec blurry clip? Ask for live WhatsApp video call. Fraud will vanish faster than your data pack.
6. Token Before Visit
“Pay ₹2 k token, I’ll send keys by courier.” Classic. Never pay before physical visit – not even ₹100.
7. Verified Badge
Use platforms that verify owner Aadhaar. On MyKamra every listing is owner-verified – no broker, no fake.
Remember: real owners want to show the room, fakes want your token. Keep calm and call their bluff.
